A conscious way of being, with technology.
“A Conscious Technologist is someone who remembers they're human, even when the tools don't.”
We recognize that modern technology is not neutral. Especially with AI today. Every new tool we adopt shapes our attention, our thinking, and ultimately our humanity. We take deliberate responsibility for that shaping rather than outsourcing it to defaults, algorithms, or convenience.
We are not anti-technology. Not luddites. Not people who meditate before opening Slack. We understand that we are carbon-based beings — biological, finite, embodied — now moving at the speed of silicon. And we refuse to let that speed mismatch happen unconsciously.
We proactively design our relationship with technology. We know what's in our stack, why it's there, and what it costs us in attention, agency, and humanity. Not reactive. Not overwhelmed. Not outsourcing our thinking to defaults. We use technology on purpose, more often than not.
We show up in every field. Engineering, medicine, education, art, finance, farming, spirituality. The domain doesn't define us. The orientation does.
We don't stay private about it. We take some form of responsibility for the people around us — our families, our communities, our organizations, our generation.
We become nodes on the chain, not practitioners in isolation.
What we stand for.
If you can stand behind these five, you're one of us. Add your name to the CT Wall — a public yes to a new way of being.
